SOPRANO SUSAN NARUCKI NOMINATED FOR 2002 GRAMMY AWARD

New York, NY, January 6, 2003 ­ "Reigning new-music diva Susan Narucki," (The Boston Globe) has just been nominated for a 2002 Grammy Award for her recording of Elliott Carter's Tempo e Tempi. This is the first time Ms. Narucki has been nominated in the Best Vocal Performance (Classical) category, With stacks of glowing reviews, a great number of premieres of important works, and no less than a dozen new CDs over the past two seasons, she has become one of America's preeminent exponents of contemporary music. Though making her mark in primarily in new music, her repertoire reflects the exceptional scope of her activities. In addition to her schedule both here and abroad, Ms. Narucki will be singing Boulez's classic Improvisations sur Mallarmé with James Levine and the Metropolitan Opera Chamber Ensemble at the opening of Carnegie's new Zankel Hall in the fall.
